2022 Advisory Board Provider Seat Candidate

Dr. Deepak Manmohan Goyal

Executive Medical Director, Revenue Cycle
Monument Health
Rapid City, SD

Describe the reasons why you would like to run for the Advisory Board.

I believe I have a unique skill set and knowledge base to tie patients and organizations financial journey to patient's clinical journey. Supply chain plays an integral role in clinical care and yet is an underappreciated service line. I have done significant amount of work over the last 2 years that has helped me learn along the way as to how involving clinicians directly can make a big difference. I would like to take this as an opportunity to help my physician and supply chain partners to pave way for others.

Describe why you are a good candidate for this leadership role.

I believe good leaders are lifelong learners. Over the last 2 years I have learned that done about supply chain and how closely integrated it is to patient's clinical and financial experience as well as organizations financial sustainability.

I have proven my credibility multiple times as an executive and as a servant leader by demonstrating persistence with humility, passion with compassion and resilience while being respectful.

My strength is my ability and my courage to speak my truth clearly and without fear.

It is because of these qualities I have been able to rally my surgical partners to believe in a cause. We have all to come together to develop a process to assist supply chain in a very consistent fair and transparent manner.

I believe in process as process failure or lack of process is(are) the root cause of all or most inefficiencies.

Different strategies can be suited to a different circumstance for example it might be just a matter of conversation, or it might require evaluation of a big picture or it might need something more formal or like balanced scorecard to tackle an opportunity. If needed I am not afraid to ask for help from people who are better and more formally trained than me.

I believe a good leader should have different tools in their kit to map out and tackle.

Describe where you see health care evolving, and what you see supply chain’s role being in those future models.

As someone wise said that providers are trained in medicine, they are not trained in healthcare. There is a deep meaning to this. I believe care being delivered mostly by systems rather than independent practices, the gap between providers and administration is ever-increasing. It is going to have associated costs. Significant cost drivers are labor and supply chain costs. I believe engaging clinicians up early and having those partnerships will help create win-win situations for everybody and eventually benefiting the patient.

How will your leadership and vision strengthen AHRMM?

I believe I have a unique skill set with my experience in the realm of patient flow, revenue cycle, clinical medicine, managed care and most recently supply chain. I can see the big picture and connect the dots and also seeking help from appropriate quarters when needed.

I believe my personal values in my strengths aligns with AHRMM's.

I believe supply chain get back reviewed physicians to advance healthcare.

We are doing a lot of work on very similar strategies that over ordination to develop multidisciplinary approach, be a voice for supply chain partners and subsequently creating that impact. I would like to share and spread this knowledge to other organizations as well as caregivers via platform like AHRMM.

As mentioned earlier supply chain is an underappreciated service line and I would like to assist with advocacy and leadership.
