Describe the reasons why you would like to run for the Advisory Board.

While participating as a board seat member, I can pull from a medical consultative background that drives quality, patient safety, cost avoidance, and cost savings and captures a broad spectrum to limit missed opportunities and drive transformational strategies.

I see the value in the incredible opportunity to move the field to the next level, push and develop, strategic partnerships that provide quality material and resources to the front-line healthcare supply teams and health network they serve.

Describe why you are a good candidate for this leadership role.

As an active member in the healthcare supply field, I have positioned myself at the forefront of the IDN activities. From COVID 19 Command Center, capital procurement and planning, through to the total cost of ownership, including service and consumables. I have proven experience driven by a passion for contributing to the healthcare field and the grit to go the distance in my personality and career.

Describe where you see health care evolving, and what you see supply chain’s role being in those future models.

I see healthcare evolving in AI, analytics and decision-making modeling from data differentials. The proactive modeling of data provides the change to proactive business modeling, future forecasting, and the ability to flex and respond quicker. Achieving future resiliency and agility while navigating today's disruption. Growing and consistent delivery despite demand and supply imbalances.

An example of the response and direction from two data platforms could be through software platforms for deeper data capture in contracting impact all the way to the other spectrum of understanding the healthcare needs of the local patient population. National data helps benchmark and provide insight into how communities improved their health. Leverage data to drive better and financially responsible decisions.

In the first example, supply chain contracting software platforms can provide avenues of understanding strictly which items are tied to a commitment. What are all the KPI factors for success, track deviations, and cross-reference with new opportunities for applying a financial value analysis process. Software platforms on supply contracting would directly impact the health networks' bottom line. Additionally, it provides opportunities for proactive reviews and total dollars of supplies on contracts.

Healthcare is local in nature and changes over time. Population Health is now more prevalent in today's care models to pivot and drive improved outcomes. Planning will naturally drive a focus to improve supply chain demands, improve the quality and align across the healthcare network. As a reference to how impactful this information is to the supply chain, seeing and knowing which items will be needed and how much will assist the organization's total cost of care. As well as optimizing inventory, capacity, logistics and network strategies.

How will your leadership and vision strengthen AHRMM?

I see my leadership approach would strengthen AHRMM through a core approach of visibility, analytics, and planning. These three tactics provide visibility from end to end, analyze the data to identify anomalies, avoid potential problems, drive improved supply chain involvement and decisions, and leverage contracts for short-term and long-term viability. The three-pronged view and core approach are fundamental to Cost, Quality, and Outcomes (CQO).

With a core approach mentioned above, a strategy map may be created. A strategy map needs to be vertical and horizontal, including external influencers such as government, law-makers, prominent OEC industry leaders, and the FDA. Within the vertical and horizontal approach, data visualization to the concentration of primary focus and localized risks, bottlenecks, and fixes. Strategic mapping needs to include the voice of the members. The business strategy must know which mountain to climb and which are crucial for all organizations. I believe the first step in developing a strategic map would be to create a supply chain mindmap. Mindmap helps identify obstacles and illustrate each discipline’s role in overcoming them. One such Supply Chain Mindmaps could, for risk management, effectively develop a supply chain plan to move through pandemics, natural disasters, and war to outline alternative resources and providers. This approach has a raw approach and identifies what you know, bringing to light what is an unknown. An internal SWOT and member survey will provide valuable data to drive essential strategies to the front-line healthcare supply chain teams. I believe in creating strategies or at least the duplicatable formulary, moving from reactionary to proactive, and providing a dynamic movement within the Healthcare Supply Chain field.

I see these initiatives as leadership strategies that advocate excellence, education, and commitment to improved healthcare outcomes and extend to advocacy across a national level, matching the AHRMM mission and purpose.
