COHORT 3
Information Systems and Data Management
Today’s health care environment demands that information be shared in a fast and efficient manner. Technology has advanced with lightning speed and systems have become more sophisticated. They are capable of customizing management reports, coordinating information from multiple data points and locations, and communicating electronically to other systems.
Through all technological evolutions, however, two basic components remain the same: all computers possess hardware and use software programs. New information technologies and automated systems are redefining how the supply chain department (and hospital) functions. Today’s supply chain staff must be technologically savvy as well as develop good relationships with IT department staff.
Format: This program is a 4-week virtual cohort from May 5-May 30. It includes 4 live sessions (1-hour weekly presentations, that will also be available on-demand).
Continuing Education: Completing this program earns 6 CECs - applicable for ACHE credits.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Promote development of supply chain system communication standards and define common ANSI X12 EDI transaction sets.
- Identify the significance of supply chain data standards and list multiple benefits of UDI system implementation for health care organizations.
- Apply common global supply chain data standards to your organization's MMIS and collaborate with IT and Health Information Management to facilitate records management storage, archival and retrieval.
