Description
Supply chain plays a central role when it comes to leveraging data to advance health care excellence. Along these lines, we will discuss the relationship between the key data flows of supply chain management information, and how the nuances of those data flows in health care organizations require a different approach than the current state of operations.
In today's data-driven and analytics environment, it is imperative that supply chain professionals understand data management, flow, and utilization.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe how supply chain data impacts all patient care operations including clinical/patient safety, demand planning/inventory visibility and financial results supported by exceptional patient outcomes.
- Understand the high interdependency between supply chain and other information flows and the need to harmonize data across different systems and functional areas, including data flow within the hospital setting, between trading partners and payers/providers.
- Learn how items are managed today; who is typically responsible for managing data elements, where data is housed, how it is used, and current gaps in data availability.
- Explain the benefits of accurate, reliable data and synchronized information flow and the role it plays in operational oversight, strategic decision support, inventory optimization, and Key Performance Indicators.
