Description:

Wondering where to start and how to implement and meet the requirements as stated by FDA in the UDI rule? Let us help! Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) has begun a pilot program to implement UDI and is sharing their process to help others do the same.

This session explains the benefits of implementing the UDI such as immediate device status updates through collaboration with manufacturers and suppliers, increased patient care satisfaction, and how the data you collect can turn your analytics into strategic and critical business decisions. Learn the step by step process that FMOLHS used to implement UDI. Best practices to avoid delays and ensure your resources are available when you need them are also reviewed.

You will receive a complete Master Project Plan, Master Network Diagram, Workflows, and a 58 page process document addressing each activity needed to fully implement data standards within your supply chain.

Learning Objectives:
  • Explain why the UDI rule was initiated by the FDA and the associated benefits of UDI implementation.
  • Document how the software's capture, store, retrieve, and report processes can be accomplished.
  • Apply best practices and lessons learned to begin UDI implementation and capture.

Presenter:
  • Sandi Michel — Corporate Director of Data Standards & Interoperability, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System
